Korea has been a great place for many English teachers for a few key reasons: it pays English teachers better than any other Asian country, includes many benefits, and the Korean society really values English and its teachers. MANY TEACHERS IN BUSAN SAVE OVER $12,000 IN ONE YEAR! Busan is a booming city the size of Boston on the Southern coast (yes, sunny beaches!). Teacher applicants have increased over the past year as employment is harder to find in Western countries due to the worst economic situation in centuries. We aren't trying to convince anyone to apply (we do have plenty of applicants), but we believe that Korea is a great choice for a lot of people.

Speedy Recruiting specializes in placing Americans and Canadians with a 4-year degree (in any degree from an accredit school) in good teaching positions in Busan, South Korea. Speedy Recruiting makes promises to both its schools and teachers: to schools, we promise to interview/screen, and only place the top 25% of applicants we interview; to applicants, we promise to look into every school we work with and make sure they are a reputable employer. If we wouldn't be comfortable working there, we won't put you there. At Speedy Recruiting, we work to improve the teaching environment in Busan.

We are run by former Busan teachers from America, successful business owners, and Korean school managers. Together, we understand the needs of schools and teachers better than others, and strive to exceed those needs. Click "
Apply Now" or "Contact Us" to get moving. It takes nearly two months to get everything set to head to Korea, so the sooner the better. When you are accepted by a school, we will provide you with additional helpful information about living in Busan, Korea!

Here is a little odd-ball information to help you know if teaching in Korea is right for you. Do you like...

  • Hiking? Teach in Korea! Hills with loads of trails weave through the city.
  • Doing drugs? Don't teach in Korea! Yes, in some countries, drugs are still a serious crime.
  • Badminton? Teach in Korea! There are courts all over the city, underneath the subway, and built into the mountains along trails.
  • Real golf? Don't teach in Korea, unless you want to spend a lot of money. Real golf courses are hard to come by, and quite expensive.
  • Screen golf? Teach to Korea! As we all know, Koreans are great golfers, partly due to the high number of screen golf businesses in the city. It might cost $10-$15 for 18 holes, and is well worth the experience.
  • Snow? Don't teach in Korea! Well, not Busan at least. Busan is warmer than the rest of the country, and chances are you won't see a single flake.
  • Socks? Teach in Korea! If you've never been, this might seem like a strange comment. But, socks are important in Korea because people often take their shoes off. Therefore, you can find them for sale along the street for $1.
  • Crime? Don't teach in Korea! It is safe to walk any street of Busan late at night compared to most western cities.
  • Beaches? Teach in Busan, but not the rest of Korea! Busan is knows as the "Summer Capital" of Korea largely because it is right on the Southern coast and lined with beaches.
  • Shopping for clothes? Don't teach in Korea! You might find that none of the clothes fit you.
  • Cheap baseball games? Teach in Korea! For less than $10 you can see a professional game with excited fans, and you can bring in your own food and drink!
  • Mexican food? Don't teach in Korea! There are only a few Mexican restaurants to speak of, so it's best to go Korean.
  • Karaoke? Teach in Korea! Busan has more karaoke joints than you could imagine, and they are wildly popular. This is something that you have to try at least once, even if you don't like to sing.
  • Wide Roads? Don't teach in Korea! Though, if you do teach in Korea, you won't be driving a car anyway. Many foreigners pick up a cheap scooter to zip around the city. If you do get a scooter, know that there are cameras that catch you speeding, and you will get tickets in the mail. So, don't speed for a week or two and end up with a fist-full of tickets!
  • Arcades? Teach in Korea! Did we mention Koreans love arcades? You might start to love them to if you live here. See how Dance Dance Revolution should really be played!
  • Cheese & Strong Wine? Cheese is very expensive, and Koreans enjoy sweet wine, so look carefully before grabbing a bottle.
  • Computers? Teach in Korea! Busan is filled with "PC Bangs," which are rooms filled with computers. Mainly, there are used to play games, and people of all ages (though mostly teens) use them 24-hours a day. This is convenient for foreigners who need to send a quick email or Google some directions. The cost is about $1 or $1.50 an hour. Not bad.
